N.E.R.O. was started in January 2005. It was started by Ron and Antoinette Bishop.
Ron has been in Law Enforcement since 1991 and has had a K9 since 1995.
Antoinette works at Reidville Road Animal Hospital and had been employed there since 2000.
Our intentions in starting N.E.R.O. are to provide a home for our working hero's when they are ready to be retired or have become disabled.
The name N.E.R.O. stands for "National K9 Enforcement Rescue Organization".
The name N.E.R.O. was also for the name of Ron's K9 when we started the rescue.
We were originally naming the rescue in honor of Nero, but Nero became very sick and we lost him to cancer on March 23, 2005. So now we are doing this in memory of him.
We both truly love all animals, but think a working dog rescue is one that is really needed.
Please pass our web address onto any of your Law Enforcement, Military, or S.A.R. friends who may or know someone who may benefit from our rescue.
